The Harmful Effects of Smoking

The Harmful Effects of Smoking
There are several different effects to smoking, none of them good. By smoking, you severely reduce the amount of time you live. For example, if you are a regular smoker, every cigarette you smoke can reduce your lifespan by 11 minutes. Some people smoke 2 packs a day! Let’s do the math. Each pack has about 24 cigarettes, and if you smoke 2 packs a day, that is a total of 48. If each cigarette takes away 11 minutes of your life, that is about 528 minutes of your life. That is about 8 ½ hours!! And if you smoke every day for a year, that is 8 ½ hours of every day.  That’s 3102.5 hours a year! That is 129 days! This means that smoking 2 packs every day can reduce your lifespan by 1/3! Not only that, but you will suffer from diseases along the way. These diseases include, but aren’t limited to:
·         lung cancer
·         Strokes
·         Bad gums
·         Bad breath
·         Addiction
·         Stained fingers
·         Bad body odor
